i'm going to want to be a midwife after this paper.

so as our final research paper for my intro to journalism class, we are to write a feature article.
ya know, one of those articles that has three to four different parts to it? my teacher (who, besides my advisor, is my favorite teacher EVER) is haveing us do a three part feature article, while giving us the saying,

"a three legged stool doesn't wobble."

so with that being said, my prfessor wanted us to choose a topic that was generally "current" and said that it would also help if we chose something that interested us, with the exception of certain topics, one of them being one that i don't blame him for pulling the plug on.

so i chose my topic on something that's of interest to me: birthing options.
why this is interesting to me, i don't know.
maybe it's the fact that my dream/ goal in life, God-willing, is to be a wife and mom.
maybe it's because i'm pro life and birth is beautiful.
maybe it's because women's bodies are amazing considering the fact that we can carry another human being in side of us for nine months and then get it out of our bodies.

**funny story: while doing some research babies and births, i found a book entitled "get me out". hahahaha.

so yeah. that's what i'm doing this week and next, along with a bum-load of other things, things that ya'll will probably hear about dpending on whether or not i like it.

we'll see what happens.

i have a good feeling that i'm going to want to become a midwife or doula after all this research.

monthly resolutions: april

so...ya'll know how at the beginning of each year
everybody and their uncle's dog are gearing up to make "new years resolutions"?
yeah. i'm not one of those people.
i don't normally make resolutions because i know that i won't come through with them.

but i saw this lovely idea on this lovely lady's blog and i thought to myself
"maybe month by month resolutions would be better?"

so i'm going to try it out.
and i figure it will be a good way to keep myself accountable
knowing that people are reading this.

1. spend more time in the Word.
this is something i struggle with and i know dang well i need to get back to it.
and that's that.

2. get more excercise.
this can consist of a number of things: walking, running, biking, SOMETHING other than my normal bouncing back and forth around campus. that just isn't cutting it. and i need to stick with it AT LEAST three times a week. for ATEAST 30 minutes to an hour. i went on a bike ride yesterday and the day before it was simply the best. thing. ever.

3. eat more fruits and veggies.
i have been really trying to eat better
(in terms of portions and what i'm eating completely)
and have become very interested in nutrition in general.
the only issue is adding even more of these yummy colorful edibles.
 YUUUUUUSSSS.

4. budget better.
i have made budget's before BUT i have two jobs and it's hard to budget properly when one job pays you every two weeks at a consistent amount and the other pays you every week but the amount changes based on sales.......sheesh.

what are you resolutions for april?

i'm linking up with kelli @ she learns as she goes!

God is love.

so a couple days ago, because there were things going on in our world in regards to legalizing marriage equality (what exactly i'm not 100% sure, i think cases to legalize it compeltely) i have seen so many of these pictures pop up on people's profile pictures on facebook:

this was many people's way of showing their support for legalizing marriages of all types.

let me first just go ahead and put out there that if you didn't already figure, i'm 100% for traditional marriage; marriage between one MAN and one WOMAN. i beleive that's how God created marriage, and i believe that God is sovereign, and all knowing, and that He ieew exactly what He was doing when he created marriage in this fashion.

but as many of you have seen in the news, online, or in public in general, there is so much hate going out to those who are and are not for "marriage equality". my question is  why? why is there so much hate?

you wanna know the answer to that?

sin. sin is why there is so much hate. sin is why people are the way they are. sin and our choices.

so in the end of the matter, we need to remember that we are all sinners. we have been since the Garden of Eden. we were created with a free will and when sin entered the world, we now had and still do have the opportunity to sin BY OUR CHOICES. God loves everyone, even those who partake in homosexuality. God see's all sin the same. there is nothing that we could do that is worse then, or not worse than something else someone does.

also remember that because God is love, we need to love as well. it doesn't matter what someone has done. it didn't matter to Christ when he died for us. it still doesn't matter how horrid we have been. God loved us enough to send his only Son to die; to die for us. that's true, real love. so the least we can do is show everyone God's love in return.
so i just wanted to leave you with some words that i saw on facebook with the above picture that i thought fit perfectly with what i was thinking in regards to this "marriage equality"

"God does not preach against love, it's never been about love. It's about sexual immorality. The Lord loves you, and whether you love Him or not, He died for you. He has made you pure and perfect, just have faith in this."

"Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God. Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God." 1 Corinthians 6:9-11

bloglovin and a new camera are a weird combo.

alrighty folks.
so according to other bloggers that i'm following, some way that we are able to follow blogs originally is no longer an option?
i know that makes no sense, but you can follow this blog on bloglovin.

i don't really know what any of this means other than the fact that you can also follow me on blog lovin.

so yeah. there's that.

also, in more exciting news, i got a new camera.

THANK YOU TAX REFUND

see this little beauty?
it's as if a canon rebel and a general canon power shot had a baby.

so now hopefully i'll be able to take some decent pictures
and some shveeeeeeet videos for the youtube.

so they say.

it's good to do so many things for your blog.

so they say.

i read up recently on a website full of tips for bloggers.

there were things like "don't feel like you have to have a set schedule when blogging." this one i like the most because it allows one to blog when she wants. (or he. i don't know you.)

also it's good to have an "about me" tab, so that when "discovering your blog", a reader can learn about you. or so they say.

this is beginning to sound like a Kurt Vonnegut novel.

this one stuck out to me the most, 1. because if you have been around long enough, you know that i don't have an about me tab. i have been known to post random little things about me, but ya'll don't actually know about me. (unless you have the awkward pleasure of knowing me in. real. life.) and 2. because that's something that i always look for when i am looking for new blogs. i want to know about the writer.

so of course i should exude the same pleasure for others, right? right.

so then i thought, well let's be unique. let's do a vlog instead of typing it all out.

anyways, i say all of that to ask you, my lovely followers and/ or readers to do me a favor and ask m some questions.......WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO KNOW ABOUT MEH?

i feel awfully vulnerable asking that, because i don't think i will have much of a response.

BUT I WILL WORK WITH WHATEVER RESPONSE I GET AND ADD TO IT. AND YOU WILL LIKE IT.

also if you have any tips on what to include in my "about me", that would be helpful. i'm not the best at just filling out "about me" stuff, unless prompted with a particular question. other wise you'll catch me regurgitating something along the lines of.......

and then after that, things just weird and awkward. not that i'm against those too things; after all that's what my life is. but not everyone is as familiar with the weird and the awkward as i.
