get yourself a tribe.

hi friends! fair warning and i'm not sorry for this at all but there is about to be a massive picture explosion. but again. not sorry about it in the slightest.

so, while working on more post and content for this sweet little home i've found here, i want to share about a group that is so close to heart.

but, group is not the proper word for what i want to talk about.

my people could be described with a number of different words.

example:

herd.
pack.
school.
clowder.
pounce.
brood.
raft.
colony.
rookery.
waddle.
huddle.
romp.
litter.
prickle.
 mob.
troop.
colony.
fluffle.
nest.
tribe.

yes i just went through an entire list of animal groupings.
ahh yes tribe is the perfect word for what i'm feeling and thinking.

tribe.

dictionary.com defines this as "a division of some other people", "a company, group, or number of persons", "a class or set of persons, especially one with strong common traits or interests", "a large family" along with a number of other definitions.

this is a proper idea of my people.

ya'll, get yourself a good tribe.

get yourself people who will laugh with you.
and at you.

get yourself people who will encourage you in your walk with Christ.

get yourself people who will adventure with you.

get yourself people who are willing to go through EVERYTHING WITH YOU.

get yourself people who know when to be serious,
but don't take EVERYTHING seriously.

get yourself who care about you and who you care about in return.

my tribe consists of Abby, Cara, Michayla, and myself. we have all been friend for years, some of us our ENTIRE lives. i am so thankful for my tribe, these beautiful woman.

we've been through just about everything together; school, puberty, love, heartbreak, weddings (only one so far) and so many things i can't begin to name. these ladies have encouraged me spritually, emotionally, mentally and physically. they have been my rocks. they have supported me, they have called me out when i'm being stupid.

and last but not least, they have dealt with my VERY weird sense of humor.

the four of us recently were able to get together for dinner and it was the most refreshing time of friendship. we don't get together often, but when we do, it is the best time. we had dinner, caught up on each others lives and laughed and that is my favorite kind of girls night out.

ladies, i hope you never doubt how much i love all of you, how thankful i am for you, how i wouldn't be where i am without you. thank you for loving me. thank you for letting me love you.

cheers to the best friends i've ever had.

cara.

this lady's birthday was almost a month ago and i have yet to write anything about it.

so here we are.

cara is one of my very very very best friends. she is one whom i go to to vent about things, she always has good advice, and she just generally understands me. we share a love of all things the office and parks and rec, oldies music, and having weird dance parties after 10pm. also, and something SO IMPORTANT in friendships: SHE LAUGHS AT MY JOKES.
she thinks i'm funny, i think she's funny, it's a win-win.

Cara, you're so wonderful. thank you for being one of my oldest and dearest friends. i know we have talked about how blessed, grateful, and how much we love the friendships God has given us recently, but i have to say it again: I AM SO VERY THANKFUL FOR YOU.

also i'm sorry your birthday post is so dang late.
my bad.

luh you girl.

BLOT # 2,4,5,6

Hey ya'll!

BLOT #2:

ok so i have come up with a new word.

well, not so much a new word as i have come up with a new meaning for a word.

blot.
not the most creative word in the dictionary.
usually referring to a smudge or as www.dictionary.com says "a spot or stain, especially of ink on paper. " or "a blemish on a person's character or reputation: He had been haunted by a blot on his past."

i have come up with yet another meaning, but i consider it as a combination of words.

you can consider it a "blogger" word if you like. i think of the word "blog" and "thought" could be mushed together to make the word "blot", meaning "blog thought".

get it?

got it?

good. :)

BLOT #4:

i was at this really awesome bible study yesterday. we have been going through the book of first john, but yesterday we decided to stray away for a week and talk about "quiet times" and "daily devotionals".

Erin, our teacher, made a good point about a quiet time. she put it as
" a quiet time is like exercise.
once you start trying to do it regularly. you have to push yourself.
you have to make yourself get up early, if that's not something you already do.
it may take a week, two weeks, or a month (or longer) before it becomes something you do naturally.
sometimes you get to a point were you just stop doing it regularly (i.e. quiet time, or exercise).
after a few days, you definitely start to feel the wear and tear of not doing it.
if this continues, you end up in a rut and not doing it becomes normal once again.
then you have to start back over."
what do you think?

BLOT #5:

i was in math class yesterday, learning about imaginary numbers. after something my teacher said, this thought or "blot" popped into my head.

why the heck are there imaginary numbers?
it seems that those mathematicians, from back in the day,
decided they had had enough of "real numbers".
they must have all gotten together and schemed,
what they thought was, a brilliant plan.

"lets make up some new numbers," they schemed. "but they won't be more real numbers. oh no. they will be something better. imaginary numbers."

(keep in mind that this is fictional dialogue. i have no earthly idea whether or not this is what the mathematicians-from-back-in-the-day actually said.)

so my response to the above fictional dialogue is:
"sure. go ahead and come up with imaginary numbers.
we had imaginary friends as a kid,
so why not have imaginary numbers to go with the imaginary friends we lost?"

(also: keep in mind that i am not dissing the mathematicians-from-back-in-the-day, i just don't appreciate imaginary numbers)

BLOT #6:

my friend, Cara is her name, is sick

sad day for her indeed.

why don't you lovely people go over to her blog: http://thatslifeyall.blogspot.com/
make her happy.

read it and weep.

actually you may laugh instead of weep.

she is one of many thoughts.

ttfn, ta ta for now!
