God is always good.

i feel like i have made a previous blog post with a similar title before, but i think one can never have to many blog posts with this title. because it is so true.

HE is so good.
HE is always good.

HE has been testing my faith to the max lately though, but has answered my prayers through and through.

i found out in july that i didn't get work study at my school, something i was blessed with for the entirety of my freshman year in college. so needless to say, i was bummed. BUT i was able to get on a waiting list for it. and i was near the top of the list.

i went and told my former boss at the library this news. she then asked me if i still wanted to work at the library. and of course i told her i did. so she said that if i sent her my class schedule for the fall that she would look at it and let financial aid know that she wanted to rehire me, so they wouldn't have to retrain someone and because they liked having me. (and that makes me blush....hahah)

well after some major financial and schedule changes, i got an email this morning from my former boss at the library, telling me to go to financial aid ASAP for rehire!!!

so it looks as if i may be working at the library again! i'm so happy! it's a huge answer to prayer! i loved working there last year. and this will help so much with my current financial situation with school.

my mom reminded me of this the other day and i am continually reminding my self: no situation is bigger then GOD.

and GOD'S timing is always perfect.

"And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to HIS purpose." Romans 8:28

singleness...

this sunday in sunday school we talked about singleness and how we use the time we have as single women.

from I Kissed Dating Goodbye:

1. the right thing at the wrong time is the wrong thing.
*are we using this time of singleness to prepare our selves to be a godly spouse or pretending with dating relationships?

2. you don't need to shop for what you can't afford.
*just because something is good for you doesn't mean it's good for you right now.

3. any season of singleness is a gift from God.
*God does not give us something that is not good for us

soooooo.... WHILE WE SINGLE GIRLS ARE WAITING; practice:

-intimacy in other relationships, like family, friends, etc.
-seeking God with others. ie. girl friends.
- financial responsibility
- parenthood-----this means KNOW HOW TO CHANGE A DIAPER.
- practical life skills

we need to be content with the time of singleness that we have.......possibly that's easier said then done. but we can at least try, and ask God to help to help us with this.

we walk by faith......

recently in the past few months, a dear family friend has been very ill. this man is practically my father, so when struck with the news of illness, it was tough to take.

his wife has been good about updating about his health, and recently said something very thought provoking that i wanted to share with ya'll.

"I have always heard and sometimes said that "God will not give us more than we can handle". I don't believe that now. If He did not give us more than we could handle, there would be no need for Him. We can not handle this on our own. We are relying on his faithfulness to see us through. We live by faith and not by sight. If we went with what we "see", it may be enough to overwhelm us. We know there is a plan and a purpose; we will live by faith"

i never thought of it that way. and i agree. no matter what the circumstance, we walk by faith.

thank you for the reminder Mrs. Colleen!

God's timing is perfect no matter what

i'm straightening up my room today. thanks to some lovely ladies, my room was nice and clean when i got back form china. but after being back, unpacking, house sitting for a week, starting school, etc, it got a little messy. NOT NEAR AS BAD AS IT WAS, i can assure you. just needed to be straightened up.

well i was putting a book on my bookshelf and i noticed an old journal of mine from when i started high-school. i started flipping through in and saw how weird i was was in ninth grade. haha.....ever get embarrassed when looking at stuff from the past? it makes me laugh.

as i was flipping through my notebook, i saw a page of prayer requests that i had written out to remind my self to pray for as i would write in this journal. it was really awesome to see that God had answered those prayer requests.

one was of a girl we had gotten to know, that she would receive Christ; she did.
a couple others were for the missions teams of that year, that everything was going well; those were successful trips from what i had heard.

then i went to look at some personal prayer requests for me. the one that stood out said, and reminding myself to pray about, "if God is leading me to go to South Africa" and apparently i wanted to go that year (2009) and was in the process of filling out the application.

well it obviously wasn't in God's plan that i go on missions trip to South Africa in 2009. and not to go to china in 2010. But in 2011. perfect example of God's timing. i wasn't ready for a mission trip. He knew that 2011 was the year for me to go overseas, and NOT TO SOUTH AFRICA. i never knew that i wanted to go anywhere other then SOUTH AFRICA. don't get me wrong. i would still love to go there. but i was brought to the last place i thought i wanted to go. AND I LOVED IT.

i am so thankful that i was able to go to CHINA. we were so welcomed there. we fell in love with the children that we came in contact with. and i know God was glorified through what we were doing over there.

"There is an appointed time for everything. And there is a time for every event under heaven...." Ecclesiastes 3:1

God's timing is perfect no matter what. :)
