Beaufort weather has a sense of humor.......

i have decided Beaufort's weather has a sense of humor.

honestly...it feels like it purposely sticks out a leg to trip you only to laugh at you when you fall on your face......

My reason for this decision is based on what happened to me yesterday......

See the umbrella?
yes you should...its RIGHT THERE IN FRONT OF YOUR FACE.......:)

anyways......i was dropped off at the tech. library so i could work on some homework, and then walk down to my orthodontist for an appointment....being the airhead that i tend to be, i did even think to bring an umbrella even though it had rained the day before and the sky was looking very overcast. of course....
so after being at the library for about an hour, i decided to look out the window. and low and behold, IT WAS RAINING....of course. i ask God right then and there to stop the rain...and it did....for a little while....

i get ready to leave the library, happily packing my things mind you, when i look out the window again.....it was raining HARDER. so i decided right then and there that i really needed and umbrella. i go in the college book store. they have umbrellas, but the only kind available are the big ones (notice pic above), which are, of course, the most expensive.
one umbrella and $25 later (yes, that's how much the umbrella cost...ridiculous, i know), i walk out side, with the already unwrapped umbrella, keep in mind, so i now can't return it.

OF COURSE.....being Beaufort.......it would still be raining, BUT not hard enough to need an umbrella......OF COURSE.........

i would really like to break this umbrella............

Come on my favorite females!

we had a great sunday school lesson yesterday. (btw: have you ever noticed that most of my blog posts are from sunday school lessons? i don't think there is anything wrong with that......;)

we discussed our focus as young women and "what commands our attention", while using the book Girls Gone Wise by Mary A. Kassian....please get this book and read it and check out more info here: http://www.girlsgonewise.com/

but a question was asked in class that got my attention: "Who in this past month, has memorized atleast ONE bible verse?" i looked around the room to see who had raised their hand....only two, maybe three people.....i wasn't one of them.......

as i was thinking about this question, i suddenly felt ashamed of all of the young women in the class, including myself. hardly anyone had even tried to memorize a verse....(either that or there were plenty of people to shy to raise their hand...)

we were then challenged to memorize Titus 2:3-7; what it means to be a women.....

so, to those girls(or any young or older women...or anyone for that matter, who happens to read this blog):
Come on my favorite females! Lets try hard and start memorizing those verses, so that we can hide in our heart, what it means to be a Godly young women:

"Older women likewise are to be reverent in their behavior, not malicious gossips nor enslaved to much wine, teaching what is good, so that they may encourage the young women to love their husbands, to love thier children, to be sensible, pure, workers at home, kind, being subject to their husbands, so that the word of God will not be dishonered. Likewise urge the young men to be sensible; in all things show yourself to be an example of good deeds, with purity in doctrine, dignified," Titus 2:3-7

this verse reminds me that i am, in some way, an older women, and that i have younger women looking up to me, watching what i do, what i say, how i act, what i wear........i DO NOT want to lead them in the wrong direction, i DO NOT want to be a bad example to these precious younger women who are watching me......i DO want them to grow up and be Goldy young women of God, having wonderful examples to follow and i hope as a sunday school class, we can be that good example.......COME ON MY FAVORITE FEMALES!! WE CAN DO THIS!

The right age to be married...WHEN IS THIS?

I'm not gonna:

~start this blog off by saying that it's been awhile since i last posted

~apologize for not regularly blogging

~say that i'll do better, because i may do better....and then again....i may not.....so i'm not gonna say anthing....;)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What i am going to say is: i have an amazing sunday school class. My teacher teaches straight from the word of God and challenges us.
Today she began answering questions from cards that we had given her a few weeks ago.
The question was, when is the right age to get married?
pause: so this is a high school girls sunday school class; we have talk about dating and things of that nature for a couple months. and this was a very good question; i had kinda been wondering this too.......
My teacher (she is Ms. Audrey, my pastor's wife and an amazing woman of God....to read her blog, click here. )
She bega by taking us to Genesis 1, which tells of creation. Then we went on to chapter two and she began this list: (information taken from Genesis 2 -------------> should be read to get the full affect of what i'm saying)
------
Man:
  • God formed man
  • God planted the garden
  • God placed man in to the garden
  • God gave man a job and cultivates
  • God gave command-> postive and negative
  • God says that man needs a helper
  • God brought animals to Adam
After everything that happened above, God puts Adam in a deep deep sleep, takes on of Adam's ribs, and forms a woman.....When Adam awakens, he finds a WOMAN......and not just any woman either. He finds....
HIS WOMAN!!
ok...so look at the list that was made and think about it in the sense of how we answer the question: when is the right age to get married?
Have you thought about it? Don't read any further till you have......
ok.....notice that before God brings Adam's woman, God gives Adam a job to.....do what?
TO BE ABLE TO PROVIDE FOR HIS WIFE!!!!!
Now do you see the answer to the question? When i found it out, it was like a light balb turned on a a very very dark room........
Alot has been happening...yo...
So...I AM OUT OF SCHOOL....as of may 25....been spending my time doing laundry, cleaning my room, and reading.....
....maybe i should spend it blogging too....;)
Anyways...today i am working on a script for Vacation Bible school. I got the main girl part (yay) but it has been alot of working memorizing scripts......i have rehersal tonight so lets hope it goes well, shall we?
I wanted to run this by the internet (which consists of whoever reads my blog, which i don't think anyone does so i could just be talking....i mean, TYPING to myself...) this idea that i had....
IDEA: So i have been looking for a summer job (which has gone no where so far) and there is this dude on the interenet who does daily Vlogs (a video blog...kinda like this only with video) of his family and himself ON youtube. He challenged himself to do it for a year and after the year was up, he just continued it. i Believe that he gets paid sine he allows adds to pop up on his videos.
I was actually thinking of starting to do this too.....ya know...if it makes me some money, i think it would be fun....but FIRST: i need tyo get into the habit of "vlogging" regularly....
So, to whoever happens to see this, what do you think? if i started doing it, would you help me out by watching and subscribing to me on youtube? Whether or not you think its a good idea, i may try it any ways....we shall see...:)
Christian Marriage.....
So in my Lit. class we are reading "Mere Christianity" by C.S. Lewis. we got a ginormous amount to read over spring break, but that doesn't really matter at this point. I have four chapters left and so i am on the home stretch......yes....sweet, sweet victory is on its way.......:)
Anyways, i was reading some tonight and i read on a number of things that popped out to me and made me want to share it........so i thought i would blog about it....so now whoever reads this must endure through this......BWHAHAHAHAHA!!
Jeez.....i must be A.D.D. or something...who knows....:/
The first thing that popped out at me was in the chapter entitled "Christian Marriage".
Now every one of us single girls may dream about what it will be like to get married, right? We imagine meeting our "Prince Charming" who will come and sweep us off our feet and we will both be in love with each other and ride off into the sunset and live happily ever after. The we imagine our lives being perfect with the man with love, being married to him "until death do us part"..........
Lewis says that "being in love is a glorious state". (I can only imagine that this is true, seeing that i haven't been in love yet....) He says that it makes us as humans more generous and courageous, "it opens our eyes not only to the beauty of the beloved (ya know...the amazing person that you're in love with...) but to all beauty. Basically he says that love opens you're eyes and gives you a whole new meaning of life and how one should behave...or something like that....that's what it says to me......translate that the way you like......
The later on, Lewis goes on to say "Knowledge can last, principles can last, habits can last; but feelings cannot..." He says that no matter what people say, actually "being in love" doesn't usually last. I beg to differ.....
Before i go on, i would like to say that yes,i know that i have never been in love, and yes i know i have never been married (duh...I'm only 17 and still in high school). But from what i have been taught and the opinions that i have formed from what i have been taught, i MOST DEFINITELY disagree with what Lewis says....
When it comes to love and being in love with the "right" person- the person that God has been preparing for you and you for him/her-your feelings for them will never change. You may go through a period of time where you don't particularly like your spouse, but I don't think your feelings really change for them. Like i said, if he/she is the one that God has been preparing for you and you for them, those feelings shouldn't ever truly change.
Maybe i don't know what I'm talking about....maybe i am over stepping some boundaries that shouldn't be crossed until i get married and actually "experience" what C.S. Lewis is talking about......just remember that these are my opinions formed by what i have been taught.....
