BLOT # 2,4,5,6

Hey ya'll!

BLOT #2:

ok so i have come up with a new word.

well, not so much a new word as i have come up with a new meaning for a word.

blot.
not the most creative word in the dictionary.
usually referring to a smudge or as www.dictionary.com says "a spot or stain, especially of ink on paper. " or "a blemish on a person's character or reputation: He had been haunted by a blot on his past."

i have come up with yet another meaning, but i consider it as a combination of words.

you can consider it a "blogger" word if you like. i think of the word "blog" and "thought" could be mushed together to make the word "blot", meaning "blog thought".

get it?

got it?

good. :)

BLOT #4:

i was at this really awesome bible study yesterday. we have been going through the book of first john, but yesterday we decided to stray away for a week and talk about "quiet times" and "daily devotionals".

Erin, our teacher, made a good point about a quiet time. she put it as
" a quiet time is like exercise.
once you start trying to do it regularly. you have to push yourself.
you have to make yourself get up early, if that's not something you already do.
it may take a week, two weeks, or a month (or longer) before it becomes something you do naturally.
sometimes you get to a point were you just stop doing it regularly (i.e. quiet time, or exercise).
after a few days, you definitely start to feel the wear and tear of not doing it.
if this continues, you end up in a rut and not doing it becomes normal once again.
then you have to start back over."
what do you think?

BLOT #5:

i was in math class yesterday, learning about imaginary numbers. after something my teacher said, this thought or "blot" popped into my head.

why the heck are there imaginary numbers?
it seems that those mathematicians, from back in the day,
decided they had had enough of "real numbers".
they must have all gotten together and schemed,
what they thought was, a brilliant plan.

"lets make up some new numbers," they schemed. "but they won't be more real numbers. oh no. they will be something better. imaginary numbers."

(keep in mind that this is fictional dialogue. i have no earthly idea whether or not this is what the mathematicians-from-back-in-the-day actually said.)

so my response to the above fictional dialogue is:
"sure. go ahead and come up with imaginary numbers.
we had imaginary friends as a kid,
so why not have imaginary numbers to go with the imaginary friends we lost?"

(also: keep in mind that i am not dissing the mathematicians-from-back-in-the-day, i just don't appreciate imaginary numbers)

BLOT #6:

my friend, Cara is her name, is sick

sad day for her indeed.

why don't you lovely people go over to her blog: http://thatslifeyall.blogspot.com/
make her happy.

read it and weep.

actually you may laugh instead of weep.

she is one of many thoughts.

i felt like a mom. just what i want to be.

tonight was an eventful evening.

a fun evening.

i was babysitting with some kids who are a real joy to babysit.
that's hard to get sometimes when babysitting.
alot of girls just do it because they need money,
even if its for an unpleasant family as a whole
or just an unpleasant child.
that would not be pleasant. at all.
i, on the other hand, am very lucky to be babysitting for some great families who, in turn, have great kids.

well, things were going smoothly.
i was playing doggie with two children.
one little girl was wondering around the living room playing with toys and another was in a little girls room playing in the play kitchen.
a baby was sitting, watching everything that was going on in her house, very relaxed.
while playing doggie, i would go check on whoever was playing in the kid's room, just to be sure no one was choking, bleeding, or crying for that matter.

as the night wore on, two little girls would ask for "mommy or daddy". i would inform them that they (mommy and daddy) were learning about Jesus (code for "at bible study") and would be back shortly. one little girl in particular was apparently exhausted,
because that excuse (which was legit)
for why mommy and daddy weren't there,
was not assuring her of anything.

the poor punkin was tired and wanted her parents. she got her self all worked up, crying and screaming, until she threw up. i promise, i tried to calm her down, but it was too late.

now i will let you in on a secret. i have never, in the six years that i have been babysitting (making me a trained pro....not. i am still learning.) not once, dealt with a child's puke.

i had always dreaded the day when, having been married with children, my child would be sick. i especially dreaded the "throw up" sick. i would tell myself that if my child threw up, i would probably, at the very least, get sick to my stomach if not want to throw up my self.

well tonight, IT happened. a child threw up, and i dealt with it. i dealt with it like a mom would. or at least how i would if i were a mom.

and i felt fine. i felt accomplished.

i felt like a mom. just what i want to be. one day. in the future. score. :)

anyone have any fun babysitting stories?

It would be most inconvenient since I have sworn to loathe him for all eternity.

Hi friends!

sorry for the lack of updates. things just get in the way sometimes. things like holidays (notice when my last post was), church, youth group, school......important things.

anyways, i have been lazy today. my mom and i have watched sappy romance movies all day.

WELL....technically only two and they weren't sappy.
actually, if you want to get really technical about it,
we watched one movie all day.

Pride and Prejudice!

(we decided to watch the long 6 or 8 hour one from A&E and then the shorter one with Kiera Knightley and a very attractive Mr. Darcy)

i swear.
Pride and Prejudice is one of my absolute favorite movies and will be one that my future husband will have to endure over and over again........bwhahaha!

so in honor of Pride and Prjudice and you lovely people out there who love that movie just as much as i do, i have changed the title of my blog to a quote from the movie.

can you guess who said the title of my blog, the quote under the title, and my blog post name? (hint: they are from the shorter version of pride and prejudice with the very attractive Mr. Darcy)
